Surface Finishing Options
We offer a variety of surface finishing options to enhance the appearance, durability, and performance of your CNC machined parts.
-
As-Milled
Fastest turnaround with visible tool marks and sharp edges, comparable to 125 uin Ra finish.
-
Bead Blast
Abrasive blasting to smooth, roughen, or remove contaminants from a surface.
-
Anodized
Provides corrosion resistance. Type II for corrosion resistance, Type III for wear resistance.
-
Type II
Parts are bead blasted to #120 grit before Type II anodizing for corrosion and wear resistance.
-
Powder Coat
Powdered paint is sprayed on, then baked to create a strong, durable, corrosion-resistant finish.
-
Electropolished
Electrochemical process for smoothing, passivating, and deburring metal parts, reducing surface roughness.

Tolerance Guide
Precision is essential in CNC milling. We establish tolerances according to the part's function, material properties, and production feasibility to achieve the best performance while maintaining cost efficiency.
Proper tolerance design helps reduce machining cost and improve production efficiency:
- Avoid unnecessary tight tolerances unless functionally needed.
- Apply standard tolerances for non-critical areas.
- Simplify complex shapes whenever feasible.
- Ensure consistent wall thickness for enhanced stability.
- Account for material properties during machining.
| Tolerance Type | Standard Tolerance (±mm) | Material | Cost Impact | Machining Feasibility |
| Distance Dimensions | ± 0.127 mm (± 0.005”) | All materials | Low | Standard 3-axis machining, suitable for most materials |
| Orientation and Form Dimensions | ± 0.127 mm (± 0.005”) | All materials | Medium | Suitable for standard CNC machining, precision required for larger parts |
| Angularity | ± 0.5° | All materials | Medium | Angular measurements, achievable in 3-axis or 5-axis machining |
| Edge Condition | Sharp edges broken & deburred | All metals & plastics | Low | Standard finishing unless specified sharp edges on the print |
